Day one the English Lakes
Day one of my trip up to the English lake district. Got up there on a wet Monday morning at about 7.30am it had just started raining as I left the motorway. Great start I thought. My plan was to get to Ashness Bridge and shot around that area till midday then head into Keswick for food and to book into my hotel.

Things started looking up as it stopped rain at about 8.30 and that was the last time I saw rain all week, but at that point I thought it was going to be a wash out for the week.

“They “ say this bridge is one of the most photographed places in the lakes, and I can see why, it’s a great spot. A little stone bridge looking down a valley into Derwent water, a great view.

The is a small stone hut close by that looked great wet and with a dark sky overhead . Set up and took a few frames of that.

At that time I only had a small group of sheep staring at me, you don’t get a lot of sightseers about till midday I found. Just up the road is Surprise view a great spot to view Derwent water and Catbells fell, I’d walk up that on day three.

After I had some food and booked into my hotel and a had a afternoon nap (im getting old) I headed out to Honister pass a great drive in what was now a hot summers day.

I stopped at the bottom of a huge scree field and thought it would be a good idea to walk up the other side of the hill to photograph it, I have these great ideas that my body can’t cash in sometimes.
After getting back down with a bit of a struggle I headed Over to Buttermear and Crummock water. After a bit of a walk about and not finding anything that jumped out at me I head back and stopped off at the small church at Buttermear that looked like it was getting some great light.

It was there I found a sheep had locked its self into the small church garden after taking some mug shots of it I let it out, and it ran straight to its thirsty looking lamb.

After a hour or so just driving about I headed back to my hotel in Keswick and got an early night
